Clients can embed security directly in their LAN infrastructure with the LANShield Switch and LANShield Controller.
The Controller is a four- or 10-port appliance that aggregates uplinks from wiring closet switches. ConSentry InSight command center provides IT with full LAN visibility and policy creation and distribution for the LANShield product family.
The LANShield platform is based on ConSentry's LANShield Architecture, which combines custom silicon and dedicated security software to secure the LAN.
ConSentry's custom hardware includes a 128-core processor and two programmable ASICs that work together to perform deep packet inspection and switch traffic at 10 Gbps. The programmability of the LANShield silicon enables ConSentry to keep pace with changes in applications and security requirements.
The LANShield product family provides the full set of capabilities needed to protect enterprise assets:
• Network Admission Control (NAC) – authentication and posture check to control who can enter the LAN
• Comprehensive LAN Visibility – Incident- and exception-based information at Layer 7, including attributes such as file name, tied back to the user
• Identity-based Control – user/role-based provisioning to control user activities on the LAN
• Threat Control – block propagation of worms and other malware to prevent network meltdown
With ConSentry embedded in the fabric on the LAN, IT gains the visibility and control needed to protect sensitive business information, lower their operational costs for securing the LAN, improve the enterprise's business continuity, and reduce their risk exposure.
Product highlights include:
- ConSentry LANShield controller CS1000 and CS2400
- ConSentry LANShield Switch CS4048X and CS4048X-PoE

As an ConSentry Partner, System Professional can assist with a wide range of technical pre-sales design, planning and deployment services.
We need to manage where our users go on the LAN and what they can do. Before ConSentry Networks, we couldn't see them — let alone control them.
