SilverDoor were looking to upgrade their core IT infrastructure to cater for rapid growth and company expansion. System Professional met with Hanish Vithal (IT Systems Manager) and Segun Babalola (IT Director) at SilverDoor to discuss their future plans and help design a new and scalable IT infrastructure.

SilverDoor is engaged by international corporate and private clients for temporary and permanent relocations, staff housing programmes, business visits, international assignments, city breaks and conferences.

Hanish explained how “We were impressed with System Professional’s technical expertise and proven track record in deploying similar VMware View and vSphere solutions. Their pricing was competitive against other suppliers and they were very professional in their approach. As a result, we decided to award them the infrastructure upgrade project.”

The infrastructure redesign covered 3 main areas;

1. VMware vSphere server virtualisation – A two node VMware ESX cluster that incorporated the vMotion and HA feature set.
2. VMware View desktop virtualisation – Delivering desktops across the business with Wyse P20 endpoint devices using the PCoIP protocol.
3. HP MSA SAN – Central storage for all virtual guest machines and data, providing enhanced resilience, performance and capacity.

Hanish confirmed his satisfaction on the new infrastructure redesign. “We are really pleased with the new solution, as well as the flexibility and responsiveness demonstrated by the System Professional technical team. We now have a dynamic server infrastructure with VMware vSphere which has significantly improved our business continuity options. In addition, VMware View has drastically improved our data security and desktop user management capabilities.”
